One of the core values of Subi Church is to foster community with others. Community is more than just people getting to know each other and spending time together. We believe that community is – as described in Hebrews 10:24 – a group of people who “spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, but encouraging one another [in their faith]”. In short, the goal of a community of faith is “to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). One way that we achieve that is through the small groups ministry.
Small groups are an integral part of Subi life. Small groups give believers the opportunity to develop more intimate and closer friendships, as helping each other to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” takes place in a much more personal and smaller setting, and provides a place for every person to receive emotional, spiritual and prayer support. In small groups, the three core values (Communion, Community and Commission) are lived out in a powerful and effective way. There are also opportunities to do the work of evangelism in small groups as sometimes, the unchurched may prefer a smaller and more intimate setting as an introduction to the Christian faith.
Small groups are a great place to grow in your faith and to connect with the community at Subi Church. These groups meet regularly in homes all over Perth to learn together what it means to follow Jesus and to support each other. They are an important and vital aspect of our spiritual growth, and we strongly encourage any person who attends Subi Church to join a small group.
