One of the core values of Subi Church is to foster community with others. Community is more than just people getting to know each other and spending time together. We believe that community is – as described in Hebrews 10:24 – a group of people who “spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, but encouraging one another [in their faith]”. In short, the goal of a community of faith is “to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). One way that we achieve that is through the small groups ministry.
The vision of Subi Small Groups is to build disciples of Christ in communities that grow, love, and serve together. We aim to accomplish our vision through the following:
- We grow together by meeting regularly to study and apply the Scriptures.
- We grow together by praying regularly for one another.
- We love by encouraging one another in our spiritual walk and growth.
- We love by supporting one another in practical ways.
- We identify and use our God-given gifts to serve God and the community.
Small groups are an integral part of Subi life. Small groups give believers the opportunity to develop more intimate and closer friendships, as helping each other to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” takes place in a much more personal and smaller setting, and provides a place for every person to receive emotional, spiritual and prayer support. Small groups are a great place to grow in your faith and to connect with the community at Subi Church. These groups meet regularly in homes all over Perth to learn together what it means to follow Jesus and to support each other. They are an important and vital aspect of our spiritual growth, and we strongly encourage any person who attends Subi Church to join a small group.
